To celebrate the 270th anniversary of the De Gruyter publishing house, the company is providing permanent open access to 270 selected treasures from the De Gruyter Book Archive. Titles will be made available to anyone, anywhere at any time that might be interested. The DGBA project seeks to digitize the entire backlist of titles published since 1749 to ensure that future generations have digital access to the high-quality primary sources that De Gruyter has published over the centuries.

Indonesian Midwifery Research, that primarily focuses on midwives, midwifery practices and education, is trying to make a tremendous effort to reveal the consequences of industrial development which influences midwifery practice and midwifery educational. The 1st Annual Conference of Midwifery has proven its commitment to promote the spirit of the scientist which provides insight, innovation, and creativity to resolve the problems in the midwifery field which occurred in this industrial development era. Originality: research articles should report novel work that has not been published elsewhere. Manuscripts that lack novelty or only present an incremental advance over previous work are not acceptable. Review articles should cover the latest developments in a specific area of research, place it in a wider context and provide original insights into the topic. Potential interest for a wide spectrum of readers; findings should be put into a wide context and be understandable by readers who may not be familiar with the subject area. Conforming to recognized standards of scientific procedure in terms of methodology and ethical standards Reviewing instructions All submissions are confidential and please do not discuss any aspect of the submissions with a third party. If you would like to discuss the article with a colleague, please ask the editor first. Please do not contact the author directly. Ethical Issues: Plagiarism: If you suspect that an article is a substantial copy of another work, please let the editor know, citing the previous work in as much detail as possible Fraud: It is very difficult to detect the determined fraudster, but if you suspect the results in an article to be untrue, discuss it with the editor Other ethical concerns: For medical research, has confidentiality been maintained? Has there been a violation of the accepted norms in the ethical treatment of animal or human subjects? If so, then these should also be identified to the editor Organization and Clarity Title: Does it clearly describe the article? Abstract: Does it reflect the content of the article? Introduction: Does it describe what the author hoped to achieve accurately, and clearly state the problem being investigated? Normally, the introduction should summarize relevant research to provide context, and explain what other authors' findings, if any, are being challenged or extended. It should describe the experiment, the hypothesis(es) and the general experimental design or method. Method: Does the author accurately explain how the data was collected? Is the design suitable for answering the question posed? Is there sufficient information present for you to replicate the research? Does the article identify the procedures followed? Are these ordered in a meaningful way? If the methods are new, are they explained in detail? Was the sampling appropriate? Have the equipment and materials been adequately described? Does the article make it clear what type of data was recorded; has the author been precise in describing measurements? Results: This is where the author/s should explain in words what he/she discovered in the research. It should be clearly laid out and in a logical sequence. You will need to consider if the appropriate analysis has been conducted. Are the statistics correct? If you are not comfortable with statistics, please advise the editor when you submit your report. Interpretation of results should not be included in this section. Conclusion/Discussion: Are the claims in this section supported by the results, do they seem reasonable? Have the authors indicated how the results relate to expectations and to earlier research? Does the article support or contradict previous theories? Does the conclusion explain how the research has moved the body of scientific knowledge forward? Tables, Figures, Images: Are they appropriate? Do they properly show the data? Speed of refereeing The committee endeavors to keep time from submission to publication as short as possible. Therefore, we ask referees to report back within 14 days of receiving the manuscript. The papers published under each conference are sorted according to the themes and topics defined under each event. Papers are published according to the events at which they were presented by the authors. They can be searched by theme, author, or title. All the papers published here are open access, thus free of charge. Complete versions of the conference proceedings are also available as PDF to download. All articles submitted to ACM will generally be reviewed by two experts who will be asked to evaluate whether the manuscript is scientifically sound and coherent, whether it duplicates the already published works, and whether or not the manuscript is sufficiently clear for publication. Review reports Reviewers are asked to evaluate whether the manuscript:• Is original by stating the objectives and gap clearly• Is methodologically sound• Follows appropriate ethical guidelines• Has results/findings which are clearly presented and support the conclusions• Correctly references previous relevant work• Reviewers are not expected to correct or copyedit manuscripts. Bewirken bessere Lichtverhältnisse bei Dunkelheit in jedem Fall eine Erhöhung der Sicherheit im Straßenverkehr? Verändern Autofahrer ihr Fahrverhalten, wenn sie verbesserte Licht- und Sichtbedingungen wahrnehmen? Können die positiven Sicherheitswirkungen einer besseren Beleuchtung durch solche Verhaltensadaptationen verringert oder aufgezehrt werden? Die Autoren fassen den „state of the art“ zum Fahrerverhalten bei unterschiedlichen Licht- und Sichtbedingungen zusammen. Sie analysieren physikalische, physiologische und psychologische Faktoren ebenso wie das Wirkungspotential infrastruktureller und fahrzeugseitiger Technologien. Es wird deutlich, dass die unmittelbare Sicherheitswirkung der betrachteten Systeme in einer frühzeitigeren Gefahrenkognition und Gefahrenantizipation liegt. Auch wenn ungünstige Verhaltensanpassungen nach der Einführung sichtverbessernder Systeme eintreten können, führen diese nicht zu einer vollständigen Nivellierung der positiven Effekte.

Recovery ist ein ganzheitlicher, sinnstiftender Ansatz und bezieht sich auf alle internen und externen Faktoren, die zu Gesundheit und Lebensqualität von Menschen beitragen, die an Schizophrenie erkrankt sind. Der Ansatz beruht auf der Formel „HOFFNUNG – MACHT – SINN“ (Amering) und nimmt die Selbstheilungskräfte von an Schizophrenie erkrankten Menschen in deutlich größerem Maße in den Fokus, als das zuvor bei einem eher krankheitszentrierten Verständnis der Fall war. Dadurch werden Betroffene und ihre Begleiter ermutigt, sich auf einen Weg des persönlichen Empowerments zu begeben. Nach einer detaillierten Einführung in die unterschiedlichen Bestandteile des Recovery – Konzepts werden seine Chancen und Grenzen im psychiatrischen Wohnheim erörtert, sowohl im Hinblick auf gesellschaftliche Strukturen als auch auf Bedingungen im Wohnheim selbst.

Von der Genomforschung wurde lange erwartet, dass sie eine der zentralen humanwissenschaftlichen Kontroversen aufklärt: die Anlage-Umwelt-Debatte. Doch die Komplexität an Interaktionen, in die unsere DNA eingebettet ist, stellt dies nun in Frage. Die psychiatrisch-genetischen Forschungsmethoden, mit denen nach Genen für psychische Prozesse und menschliches Verhalten gesucht wird, geraten an ihre epistemologischen Grenzen. Auch der psychische Krankheitsbegriff verändert sich. Dieses Buch versammelt die Ergebnisse einer interdisziplinär angelegten Literaturstudie und einer Expertenbefragung zur Bedeutung dieser Entwicklungen für die psychologische Praxis. Es werden Anforderungen an eine Weiterbildung zur Genomforschung für psychologische Praktikerinnen und Praktiker formuliert.
